The name comes from Matryona, symbolising motherhood and family, while “Babushka” (grandmother) is the familiar nickname.

This set is a simple collector style — clean, classic designs with a lighter level of detail than our museum-quality pieces, making them an easy, affordable way to start or grow a collection without losing any of the handmade authenticity.

At Dolls In Dolls, we take great care to understand and verify the origins of every Matryoshka doll we offer. Every doll we stock represents traditional Russian craftsmanship:
